acpid software package provides Advanced Configuration and Power Interface event daemon, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install acpid
acpid is installed in your system.
Make ensure the acpid package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep acpid *
You will get with acpid package name, version, architecture and description in a table
